  I am no longer a member because of Marty Carnes. I reported some suspicious activity between his secretary and the former "Minister" of Music. He got upset because I "didn't look the other way". He thinks he is entitled to judge people and obviously hasn't read Matthew 7:1-5. He refuses to baptize new members, and he won't visit members who are in the hospital. He gets "money for nothing". Other people are coming to their senses and are also leaving.

  I have been a member of First Baptist Church for about 14 years. A couple months ago, my husband began a new job and our family moved out of state. How I miss this church that has been my family for so long! Our family has been forever changed under the pastoral leadership of Marty Carnes, and before that Dan Spencer, which has directed us to really seek God and to serve Him with our whole heart. The Bible has always been preached wholly, never omitting topics which would be easier left alone. Getting involved in a "Life Group" (a small group which meets together to study the Bible on Sunday mornings), ladies' Bible studies, and also the choir have helped me form lifelong friendships, dig deep into God's Word, and worship Him with everything that is in me. Bro. Marty and the staff have really been there for me over the years, through some very tough times as well as good times. No, this is not a perfect church, but never will there be a "perfect" anything this side of heaven. I encourage you to visit, find your niche and get involved! You will not regret it!
